Hello my witchy friends and a blessed Summer Solstice to all! Today’s episode is a remix of episode 67 – Muse-icology, all about the magic of music! In that episode I spoke about the witchiest song of all time – I Put a Spell on You by Screamin’ J Hawkins – tibetan singing bowls, musical divination and here’s the really fun part – the musical notes that resonate with our chakras.
In the OG ep I wasn’t allowed to include any of the songs I mentioned, but now that I am hosted on Anchor this is possible, as long as you’re listening on Spotify (it’s free!).
Including a few tweaks and updates, this episode now features a song for each chakra going from root to crown, and the song that inspired the episode’s title – Musicology by Prince. If you like the idea of using pop music to work with your chakras, and think these songs are good or even just… interesting, you’ve gotta see the rest of the playlist. It’s truly weird and strangely perfect.
Don’t like my song choices, but want to make your own chakra keys playlist? COOL. Just go to tunebat.com, and search songs by key! (stick with majors)
I’d love to see what you come up with! Post it on Instagram and tag me @fatfeministwitch or use #chakrakeys.
Root – C
Sacral – D
Solar Plexus – E
Heart – F
Throat – G
Third Eye – A
Crown – B
I also made a playlist of some of my favourite voodoo-laden tracks by Screamin J when I created this episode, and you can still find that at the following link.
The article about the origins of singing bowls can be found here – The Star – Tibetan Singing Bowls Aren’t Tibetan, Sincerely, a Tibetan Person
