The nights are getting cooler, the tunes folksier, and there's a hint of pumpkin spice in the air. It's not actually fall yet, but tbh I ain't got time for that kind of negativity in my life. Hot girl summer is winding down-- I've got my old college t-shirt on with my flannel pj pants … Continue reading Welcome to #FatWitchFall!

Faerie Magick for Beltane
May 1st, also known as May Day or Beltane, is a time when the veil between worlds is thin. The same is true at Samhain on October 31st, but instead of spirits of the deceased coming to visit we have magickal beings from the land of fae – faeries, elves, gnomes, leprechauns, etc. Music, dancing, … Continue reading Faerie Magick for Beltane
Blessed Ostara and Spring Equinox!
I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed first day of spring! I’m unfortunately bundled up with the flu so I have no Secular Witch’s Guide for this sabbat today. Sorry friends!
Here’s a ritual I wrote for Ostara last year that focuses on the bees. I really like to focus on the seasonal changes around this time and most of the magick I do revolves around animals and the environment. I also like to celebrate the day outside and even do things like picking up trash in a local park if the weather allows.
How do you celebrate the Vernal Equinox?
The Fat Feminist Witch Podcast
Sure, bunnies are cute and chocolate eggs are delicious, but spring is about more than just fertility and baby animals – it’s about flowers. Flowers everywhere are popping up out of the sleepy winter ground, or blooming and dotting the world with a little colour. You may only have snowbells or daffodils now, but soon the trees will be green and the ground dotted with all the colours of nature. Once those pretty yellow dandelions start to decorate your lawn you’ll know it’s honey bee season. (Dandelions are one of the first flowers honey bees drink from once they shake off the winter blues!)
Honey bees are, unfortunately, a dying breed. Pesticides, human encroachment on wild land, having grassy lawns instead of gardens, and once more with feeling PESTICIDES have put us in a dangerous situation with our honey bees. These busy little critters pollinate not just pretty flowers, but…

A Secular Witch’s Guide to the Sabbats: Imbolc or Mid-Winter
February 1st/2nd marks the pagan fire festival of Imbolc, a day that marks the coming of spring and honours the peace and quiet of winter. It's a holiday celebrating rebirth, spring, inspiration, and purification. Rituals to the goddess Brighid, a irish goddess of fire and hearth who presided over poetry and music, healing and magic … Continue reading A Secular Witch’s Guide to the Sabbats: Imbolc or Mid-Winter
Up Your Pagan Potluck Game
I have a confession to make: I super hate potlucks. I hate everything about potlucks. I hate the food that I remember so fondly from family funerals, I hate the unsatisfying and lopsided nature of a potluck meal, I hate carrying a hot tray on the bus to the party, and most of all I … Continue reading Up Your Pagan Potluck Game
